This journey takes you through dense pine forests, alpine meadows, and sacred trails leading to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and onward to Chandrashila Peak.

Itinerary

Early morning departure from Dehradun (around 6:00 AM).
En route stop at Devprayag, the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers.
Arrive at Chopta by evening and check into a campsite or guesthouse.
Relax amidst pine and deodar forests. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Early morning start (6:00–7:00 AM) for the trek.
Trek to Tungnath Temple, then continue to Chandrashila Peak.
Total trekking time is approximately 4–5 hours round trip.
Enjoy panoramic Himalayan views before descending back to Chopta.
Overnight stay at the same accommodation.

Leisure day for acclimatization or exploration.
Optional trek to Deoriatal Lake, starting with a short drive to Sari Village followed by a 2.5 km hike.
Spend time exploring meadows, forests, and birdwatching.
Overnight stay in Chopta or Sari Village.

Begin return journey to Dehradun.
Follow the same route or take an alternate scenic route via Pauri and Rishikesh.
Stop at Rudraprayag or Srinagar for meals.
Arrive in Dehradun by evening.
